Erin Pridgen, M.S. is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. Her interests include working with children and their families. Her areas of specialty include working with children on the autism spectrum, anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, divorce, grief, behavioral issues, self-esteem and Filial therapy. Erin leads social skills and divorce care groups for children at the Summit Counseling Center.
Erin has a master’s degree from Georgia State University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Before becoming a licensed counselor, Erin was a behavior data specialist and clinical specialist at the Marcus Autism Center (formerly the Marcus Institute) where she conducted behavioral therapy with children on the Autism Spectrum. Since obtaining her license, Erin as worked in private practice settings conducting individual and group therapy with children and their parents.
As a play therapist, Erin makes use of both directive and non-directive approaches with her child-clients based on their individual needs. As facilitator of child groups at The Summit Counseling Center, Erin utilizes the creative and playful nature of children to enhance their resiliency and coping abilities with whatever struggles they may face in a welcoming and supportive group environment.
Erin is a member at Mount Pisgah UMC with her family.
