Marianela Matheus was educated as a psychologist in her native country of Venezuela. She holds a Masters in Counseling from Georgia State University. She is a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 20 years experience in the fields of counseling and mental health. In the metro Atlanta area she has also worked with Catholic Social Services to provide essential mental health services to the underserved Spanish-speaking population.
Marianela enjoys counseling with children, adolescents, couples and families. She has developed parenting and family life education curriculum (in Spanish) and has provided seminars to the Mount Pisgah Hispanic Congregation. Her areas of specialization include acculturation of immigrants in the U.S., life transitions, developmental disorders and social deficits in children and adults as well as parenting, depression and grief issues.
Marianela is married to Mario Marin and they have one son, Nicholas.
