Keith Myers Joins the Summit Counseling Center

The Summit Counseling Center is pleased to announce that Keith Myers has joined their team as a Staff Therapist at the Johns Creek UMC satellite location.  Mr. Myers has worked in the mental health profession for 12 years and enjoys serving a variety of clients, including military (active duty and veterans), those struggling with grief and loss, those who need to improve their emotional regulation skills (i.e. anger), and men who are coping with relationship problems and/or divorce.

“I believe in providing a safe and warm environment where my clients can explore their past as it affects them in the present, enhance their present quality of life, and examine possible roadblocks to a meaningful and successful future”, said Mr. Myers.  “I am passionate about walking beside my clients as they face their struggles and helping them implement positive change in order to improve their lives.”

“Keith will be a great asset to our staff and wonderful addition to our Johns Creek UMC satellite location”, said David Smith, Executive Director.

Mr. Myers is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).  His clinical specialties include trauma and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), grief and loss, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, traumatic brain injury, Bipolar Disorder, men’s issues, relationship Problems, and Veterans’ issues.  Keith is currently a 3rd year doctoral student at Mercer University (Atlanta) in Counselor Education and Supervision.  He has given presentations and published articles on topics such as trauma, military culture, ethical issues, and combat-PTSD.  He also serves as an Adjunct Faculty Member with Argosy University.
