The 5th Annual Summit Golf Classic

The 5th Annual Summit Golf Classic

On Monday, June 20th, 2011, The Summit Counseling Center hosted its 5th Annual Summit Golf Classic at the Country Club of the South in Johns Creek, Georgia.

The tournament was a great success with 93 golfers enjoying the sunshine, a championship course, and the opportunity to support a worthy cause! The Summit Counseling Center is a non-profit counseling center providing professional counseling that integrates the insights of the behavioral sciences and the wisdom of the Christian faith.

The tournament raised over $25,000 to underwrite the services of The Summit Counseling Center and the Client Assistance Fund–a fund designed to make counseling affordable for lower income clients or those in crisis.

For the fourth year in a row, the tournament was presented by KeyWorth Bank, a community bank headquartered in Johns Creek, Georgia. The Summit’s Executive Director, Rev. David Smith, explained that the support of KeyWorth Bank has been invaluable to the success of this tournament. “Most non-profits are facing a real uphill challenge in this economy and many of our clients have less income to afford counseling – leaving us with a real gap between contributions and need. This strong support by leaders in the business community insures that we can meet the needs of people who count on us for help.”

A boxed lunch was provided by Shane’s Rib Shack and players enjoyed an Italian buffet provided by Country Club of the South for dinner. The awards for 1st Place Low Gross went to Tim Arnoult, Ben Sithens, Kevin Tolbert and George Harper. The awards for 1st Place Low Net went to Todd Coker, Michael Latour, Todd Ryman, and Robert Steinmetz. The awards for these 1st place winners included $100 Cash prize and individual trophies for each player. A live auction followed the award presentation. Numerous other awards and raffle items were provided for players.
