Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Training

The QPR mission is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training. The signs of crisis are all around us. We believe that quality education empowers all people, regardless of their background, to make a positive difference in the life of someone they know.

Community Resiliency Model (CRM)

The Community Resiliency Model (CRM)’s goal is to help to create trauma-informed, resiliency-focused communities that share a common understanding of the impact of trauma and chronic stress on the nervous system and how resiliency can be restored or increased using this skills-based approach.

CRM trains community members to not only help themselves but to help others within their wider social network. The primary focus of this skills-based, stabilization program is to re-set the natural balance of the nervous system.

Signs of Suicide – Trusted Adult Training

Aimed for adults to recognize warning signs of suicide, how to navigate those difficult conversations, and learn practical next steps with youth. By the end of the training, individuals will be considered a “trusted adult” for youth to share their struggles or get support. Great for parents, volunteers, teachers, counselors, health professionals, or coaches. Signs of Suicide is an evidenced-based program designed for middle and high school students that teaches youth to identify signs of depression and suicide in themselves and their friends. The Trusted Adult training was developed as a resource for anyone that interacts with adolescents.

As a two-part training taking place across two days, Connections Matter is designed to engage community members in building caring connections to improve resilience, prevent childhood trauma, and understand how our interactions with others can support those who have experienced trauma.

Everyday connections are more important than we ever believed. Science tells us that relationships have the power to shape our brains. Relationships help us learn better, work better, parent better. When we experience tough times, they help us heal. With each connection, we develop a healthier stronger community.

Connections Matter is a virtual training designed to engage community members in building caring connections to:

Improve resiliency,
Prevent childhood trauma, and
Understand how our interactions with others can support those who have experienced trauma.
The Connections Matter Georgia initiative is a collaboration between the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy and Prevent Child Abuse Georgia. This training will be facilitated by the Summit Counseling Center staff.
