The Summit has trained clinicians that offer specialized programming to reach the needs of our community.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

A specialized form of therapy that is designed to help adults, adolescents and their families cope with dysregulated emotions and behaviors in combination with some of the following issues:

  • Impulsivity
  • Thoughts of suicide or self-injury
  • Overwhelming emotions such as sadness, anxiety, or anger
  • Struggles with identity or constantly changing “sense of self”
  • Difficulty maintaining healthy relationships

The Summit Counseling Center offers a full protocol DBT program including individual counseling and skills groups for adults, adolescents and their families which are facilitated by Intensively Trained DBT Clinicians.

First Responder Counseling Program

As First Responders, your work can mean close encounters with danger, chaos, and tragedy…on a daily basis. In your “normal” line of duty, you are called upon to respond to “abnormal” situations. Exposure to stress like this can take a toll on you and your relationships. It is not unusual to feel “stuck” or unable to move forward when confronted with a stressful event. Temporary discomfort is normal. However, when troubling reactions continue to interfere with your daily life, counseling can be helpful.

School-Based Mental Health

As a parent, you want what is best for your child, but it is not always easy to know what type of support they need.  The Summit has partnered with private schools and public school districts to offer confidential mental health therapy, conveniently located at the school.  Students have the option to see their therapist at school during the day or at one of our offsite locations in the evening or on weekends.  This flexibility allows the therapist to quickly intervene, so children get the help they need to achieve their best at school.
