Darrick Brown, M.Div.
Program Coordinator

Darrick serves as the Mental Health Awareness Coordinator for the Summit Counseling Center. He believes fervently that mental health needs to not only be discussed but recognized as a critical component of our human experience. He supports continual efforts of identifying pivotal parts of our mental experience to provide gateways toward authentic community, safer life experiences, and intentional mental health.

Darrick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis on community development and a Master of Divinity with a focus on pastoral care and counseling. His rich background includes experience in community development, community counseling, substance abuse treatment, patient advocacy, quality improvement, clinical chaplaincy, and pastoral counseling.

Darrick believes that mental health and self-care must be more than a trend. During his time at The Summit Counseling, he has had the privilege of becoming a certified trainer in QPR, the Community Resiliency Model, Connections Matter, and Signs of Suicide: Trusted Adult Training. He also co-leads a Soul Shop workshop that provides powerful suicide awareness techniques for church bodies.

Darrick enjoys boxing, weightlifting, cooking, reading, jazz brunches, and attending church when he wants to relax. He is also a fan of a good book and any excellent comedy movie.
