Kellie provides individual, couples, and family therapy to adults and adolescents age 13 years and older. She uses a collaborative and client-centered approach as she journeys with her clients to find peace, connection, and greater fulfillment in life. She has experience in helping clients work through anxiety, depression, grief, and difficult life transitions. Kellie has a heart for helping her clients develop and strengthen healthy relationships with the people in their lives. She enjoys helping her clients work through relationship struggles including communication and conflict, as well as concerns about sexuality and sexual intimacy. Kellie has also served both short- and long-term international mission assignments, and she enjoys helping missionaries prepare for their lives on the mission field, as well as make their transition back to the States a smooth and positive experience.
Kellie specializes in working with couples in all stages of their relationship. As a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, she provides Premarital Counseling to couples who are preparing for marriage. She has completed Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and she integrates Gottman Method assessments and interventions to aid in strengthening a couple’s connection, communication, and conflict management. Additionally, she is trained in providing Discernment Counseling for couples in which at least one partner is “leaning out” of the marriage. Kellie also has specialized training in Christian Sex Therapy, and she is passionate about helping couples work through barriers to create connection and mutual satisfaction in their sexual intimacy.
Kellie has a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a specialization in Christian Sex Therapy, from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, Georgia. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Family Psychology from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Kellie’s clinical background includes providing case management to children in a residential treatment facility in Denton, Texas. As a case manager, she served as part of a team of professional counselors and other clinicians, who provided inpatient treatment for children and adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral concerns. Kellie has been on staff at The Summit since 2007, first on the Administrative team, and then as a Therapist since 2009.
Kellie and her husband, Doug, have been married since 2006. They have a very busy home with their four children. Kellie enjoys reading, listening to music, having family game nights, and going on dates with her husband. She and her family attend and are actively involved at North Point Community Church.
