“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” – Albus Dumbledore
Lee Anna works primarily with teens and adults. Her areas of concentration include depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, difficult life transitions, and ways to improve a person’s overall well-being. She has experience working with a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, self-harm, divorce, stress, and life transitions.
Lee Anna takes an integrative approach to therapy and will adapt therapy based on a client’s individual needs and therapy goals. Her methods are based on the belief that all humans have intrinsic value and are deserving of love and acceptance. Creating a safe and nonjudgmental space, she is willing and able to accept you for where you are and who you are. She also believes that therapy works when we start getting real with ourselves, even when the real things are hard and messy. She appreciates uncensored real talk, authenticity, with a sprinkle of humor and wants to help you brainstorm practical and useful tools to help change your life.
Prior to beginning her work as a counselor, Lee Anna worked for 9 years with adults with developmental disabilities teaching them social and vocational skills. In 2014, she received her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. She completed her practicum and internship at Peachford Behavioral Health Systems and continued working part time after graduation. During the 3 years at Peachford, she worked with children, teens and adults from a variety of backgrounds.
One of Lee Anna’s core beliefs in living a fulfilled life is to do fun things (commonly referred to as self-care). She is up for anything that involves a healthy dose of competition, being outside, or just spending time with her husband, family, and friends
