Nehemiah McClendon is an innovative, energetic therapist who works to empower his clients by helping them discover “self” through their personal strengths. Nehemiah works from an integrated humanistic cognitive approach where he features multiculturalism and creative arts to connect with his clients. Nehemiah utilizes expressive and creative arts inside of his therapy practices (music, art games). Nehemiah utilizes evidence-based practices to help clients work through severe trauma and emotional dysregulation. He is passionate about working with adolescents and teenagers specializing in the areas of anxiety, depression, self-esteem, emotional regulation, suicide ideation, peer pressure, family conflict, grief and loss, and ADHD. Additionally, Nehemiah works with adults aged 21-40, assisting them in navigating significant life transitions, career challenges, and the complexities of adulthood. He also works with families to help them improve communication skills, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their relationships.
Nehemiah has a passion for public speaking and facilitating workshops for training and development. He has keynoted several national conferences, covering topics including mental health, sexual assault awareness, diversity and inclusion, and the history of black bondage in America. Nehemiah has collaborated with several organizations, universities, and businesses across the southern region including Savannah College of Arts and Design, University of Alabama, and the United States Navy SWFLANT. Nehemiah is a published author of the book “The Time I Cried in Dr. Moore’s Office”, a book about emotional regulation and going to therapy for the first time.
