Crisis Assessments with The Summit Counseling Center
Immediate Mental Health Support When You Need It Most
If you or a loved one is experiencing a mental health crisis, The Summit Counseling Center is here to help. We offer the first crisis assessments in office at no cost to provide immediate support, guidance, and safety planning for individuals facing emotional distress, suicidal thoughts, severe anxiety, depression, or other urgent mental health concerns.
Our trained mental health professionals will assess the situation, determine the level of care needed, and help connect clients with the next appropriate steps.
If during the assessment our clinicians determine that someone meets criteria for a 1013 involuntary psychiatric evaluation, our team will contact transportation to a higher level of care.

What Happens During a Crisis Assessment?
During the appointment, a clinician will:
- Meet with the individual and family when appropriate
- Assess emotional and behavioral safety concerns
- Evaluate suicide risk and mental health symptoms
- Determine whether outpatient care, hospitalization, or additional services are needed
- Create a plan for immediate support and next steps
If emergency intervention is necessary, our staff will assist in contacting emergency services.

As many as you need, first one is at no cost. Any additional will be at our standard rate.
Crisis assessments can be scheduled for the same day during Summit Office Hours and take 2 hours.
Monday through Thursday 8am-8pm
Friday 8am-7pm
Saturday 9am-1pm *Limited Availability*
Any office location can accommodate a crisis assessment.
Subject to therapist availability. If recommend for outpatient care, you can select a different therapist.
