Haley Morgan Dewar

Licensed Master Social Worker

About Haley

Haley believes real healing starts the moment someone feels safe enough to stop performing and just be. No judgement. No pressure. Just the space to pause and be heard. Nothing is more comforting than a listening ear and a safe place. That belief has been the core in every chapter of her career, from sitting across from children navigating unthinkable experiences to walking alongside adults facing life’s hardest transitions. Haley has knowledge in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Crisis Intervention, giving her the tools to help trauma survivors process pain without being overwhelmed by it. She also leans into Motivation Interviewing to help clients realize their own reasons for change, meeting people where they are rather than pushing them somewhere else, they are not ready to go. Whatever someone brings through the door, grief, trauma, a life in upheaval, Haley’s goal is the same. To be steady and a compassionate presence while they find their footing again.

Outside of counseling, Haley loves a good balance between adventure and downtime. She and her husband love to travel, and they are always looking forward to their next adventure. When she is not planning a trip, she is the happiest at home while unwinding with a cup of coffee in hand and sitting by the fire. Haley loves a good read especially when it can strengthen her relationship with Christ. She is an avid gamer and cherishes moments with her friends and family.

Haley Dewar is under the directed experience and clinical supervision of Jennifer Acker, LPC

“Not reaching back for what was lost in my yesterdays. And not reaching for what I hope will be in my tomorrow. But living fully with what is right in front of me. And truly seeing the gift of this moment.”

Haley earned her Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina and her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Harding University, and today she is dual licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in both Georgia and South Carolina. Her career began as a graduate assistant focused on researching autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and from there she stepped into multiple different fields. She has provided therapy within a secure Sexually Violent Predator Treatment Program, guided patients through life-altering hospital discharges, and conducted forensic interviews with children who had experienced abuse, where she also became familiar with trauma-focused therapy to help them heal. She has worked directly with at-risk populations in secure clinical settings and coordinated community-based support programs for women and families. Haley will bring that same depth of trauma-informed, crisis-ready care into the Summit.
