Licensed Professional Counselor
Milton Site Lead

“The one unchangeable certainty is that nothing is certain or unchangeable.” – John F. Kennedy

Jason is a licensed professional counselor who sees counseling as a collaborative process. Working together with adults, teens, couples, and families, he is passionate about helping each client accept the pain and struggles of life, while finding and working toward the goals they believe will lead to hope, healing, and growth. Jason tries to use a balance of acceptance and change found in different behavioral therapies. His main focus in each session is to help a client understand how their emotions, thoughts, and actions make sense given a set of circumstances, while also giving them the insight, courage, and tools to choose how they might respond differently. He also believes the foundation of a great community is the health of the couples and families that build the community up. This is why Jason has a strong clinical interest in premarital counseling and marital affair recovery. He has also received Gottman Level 2 and Gottman Affair and Recovery Training, Foundations of Spiritually-Integrated Psychotherapy Training, and training in Discernment Counseling to help couples who are ambivalent and struggling with extreme conflict and divorce.

Prior to becoming a therapist, Jason worked in corporate, non-profit, and ministry settings. He graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in Business and Marketing. Jason also received a Master’s in the Management of Science and Technology from Georgia Tech University and a second Master’s from Richmont Graduate University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He served as a discipleship, community outreach, and missions pastor at a non-denominational church for 12 years. During this time, Jason also had the honor of serving for two years as the chaplain for the City of Milton Police and Fire Departments and a member of the school governance council in North Fulton County.

Outside of work, Jason enjoys the outdoors, including kayaking on the Chattahoochee River, bicycling, hiking, or trying any number of new restaurants in the Atlanta area. He enjoys travel and taking lots of photos. He also enjoys ballroom dancing with his wife of twenty years and never misses his cup of coffee in the morning.
