Rev. David M. Smith – Executive Director

Since 2001, David has served as therapist, clinical supervisor and The Summit’s Executive Director. As Executive Director he is responsible for overseeing the execution of the mission and vision of The Summit.

Dr. Mollie Innocent-Cupid – Deputy Executive Director

As Deputy Executive Directior, Mollie provides day-to-day servant leadership to the staff of The Summit. Her role is the central nervous system of The Summit, constantly keeping everyone from the Board and Executive Leadership Team to the Therapists and Front Office connected and moving in the same direction.

Dr. Nathan Butzen – Director of Clinical Services

As Director of Clinical Services, Nathan leads the clinical staff by providing leadership in clinical training and clinical supervision regarding best practices and providing spiritually integrated psychotherapy.

Cathy Murphy – Director of Community Outreach

Cathy Murphy is The Summit’s ambassador to our surrounding community. Her primary role is to assess needs and cultivate strategic relationships while working together with The Summit’s therapists to address the growing mental health challenges facing our community.

Rachel Newcomer – Director of Development

Rachel brings over 10 years of nonprofit fundraising experience to her role as Director of Development for The Summit. By overseeing The Summit’s event-based fundraising, and corporate fundraising efforts, Rachel is helping to ensure that the vital mission of The Summit continues to be fulfilled.

Beth Giddes – Director of Finance & Human Resources
Beth has served Summit providing financial leadership for over 15 years alongside Summit’s ministry partner, Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church. As of August 2022, she has served as Director of Finance and has become a more integral part of The Summit’s Leadership and Finance teams. Beth is helping to ensure The Summit is maintaining “good stewardship” of the finances that have been entrusted to us as we serve our mental health community.
