Troy Law works primarily with teenagers, adults, couples, and families. Some of his areas of concentration and competence include working with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, anger management, suicide ideation, men’s issues, family conflict, family separation and divorce, grief and loss, interpersonal relationships, spiritual issues, and coping with ADHD.
Troy desires to supply individuals, couples and families with the needed tools and support to help facilitate peace and structure within themselves and the family, to provide for healthy and successful growth and development, and long-lasting relationships. Troy utilizes an eclectic approach in treatment that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy informed by Family Systems approach to work collaboratively with his clients and accomplish their goals of personal enhancement and change. He believes is that this approach helps clients better engage in therapy while having their values, identity, and strengths validated.
Troy completed his undergraduate degree at Clayton State University in Psychology. He completed his graduate studies at Liberty University with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. He is also certified counselor in PREPARE/ENRICH. Since 2016, he has worked as an Associate Therapist for The Summit Counseling Center and as a school-based therapist at Centennial High School. Prior to joining the Summit, Troy has led court-mandated diversion program groups that include Anger Management, Drug Abuse, and the Family Violence Intervention Program (FVIP). Additionally, Troy is a proud veteran of the US Army, serving as a Transportation Specialist from 1995-2000.
Troy was born in Jersey City, NJ and has lived in Charleston, SC. He now resides in Fayetteville, GA with his wife, Salindra, and their two children Jace and Makayla. He enjoys sports, reading, and spending quality time with his family.
