“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
― Theodore Roosevelt
As a bilingual (English-Spanish) therapist, I draw from an integrative toolbox that lets me tailor therapy to the person sitting across from me—whether that’s a fourth-grader struggling with impulsivity or a teenager wrestling with identity and anxiety. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy gives us practical, here-and-now strategies; Narrative Therapy invites clients to re-author the stories that shape their self-image; Solution-Focused Brief Therapy highlights the strengths they already carry; and, for trauma work, I weave in EMDR and gentle somatic techniques to help the body release what words can’t reach. When working with children I lean into play therapy, art, and movement so healing feels like discovery, not homework. Throughout every session I move fluidly between English and Spanish, honoring cultural nuances and family traditions that influence mental health. Ultimately, my approach is relational and faith-sensitive: I meet you where you are, celebrate where you come from, and walk with you toward the change you envision.
One of Walter’s biggest passions is soccer. He plays it every chance he can get, and coaches a few youth teams. Walter cherishes quality time with his family and enjoys taking trips to new places. Alongside soccer, Walter has a profound love for music. He relishes attending concerts and occasionally plays the saxophone. Additionally, community service holds a special place in Walter’s heart. He actively volunteers with local organizations to give back to his community and make a positive impact. Whether through sports, music, or serving others, Walter finds fulfillment in connecting with people and exploring new avenues of growth and learning.
Walter Da Silva is under the directed experience and clinical supervision of the amazing Alice Hoag, Ed.D. LPC, CPCS, BCPCC.
