“When we can no longer change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” –Viktor Frankl
Bailey’s therapy style is relaxed and collaborative, with a high value placed on humor and hope. She is primarily informed by person-centered theory, which emphasizes authenticity and empathy as essential parts of the therapeutic relationship. She works with clients to identify their goals, their strengths, and their values and uses these to help guide the therapeutic process. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing in an integrative approach, depending on the needs and personality of the client. Bailey enjoys working with adolescents ages 12-18, adults, and older adults.
Bailey received her Master’s of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of William & Mary. She attended the University of Richmond for her Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Psychology and minor in Religious Studies. She completed her clinical internship at an adolescent residential treatment facility in Newport News, Virginia, where she provided individual and group therapy for adolescents ages 12-18. Prior to joining the Summit team, Bailey worked at Pyramid Family Behavioral Healthcare in an intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization program, where she provided individual, family, and group therapy for adolescents struggling with mood and anxiety disorders. She also has experience working in an outpatient substance use facility, an inpatient hospital setting, and an outpatient mental health practice.
In her free time, Bailey enjoys reading and re-reading her favorite books, starting new crochet projects, and exploring different trails for a run or hike. She loves going out for Mexican food with friends and volunteering as a small group leader in the high school ministry at North Point Community Church.
