Staff Associate Therapist

“Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn’t mean you can, should, or need to do it alone.” – Lisa Olivera

As a counselor, Caroline is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and nonjudgmental environment where individuals can freely express themselves and explore their emotions and experiences. Caroline primarily uses play therapy or a combination of solution-focused, person-centered, and cognitive-behavioral therapy methods that cater to the specific individual’s needs. Whether it’s addressing behavioral challenges, emotional struggles, or trauma, Caroline is dedicated to creating a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship with her clients and their caregivers.

Caroline earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of Alabama and has since dedicated her career to working with children and families from diverse backgrounds and with a range of presenting issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral challenges. Caroline previously worked as a counselor for a private practice as well as at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as a medical social worker. She is a Master Social Worker in the State of Georgia and is currently under supervision to obtain her Clinical Social Work License.

When Caroline is not counseling, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends exploring the Atlanta area and discovering new restaurants and fun places to visit. Caroline also loves going on long walks with her adorable dog and spending time outdoors when the weather is nice!

Caroline Buttrey is under the directed experience and clinical supervision of Alice D. Hoag, EdD, LPC, CPCS
