“A man is but a product of his own thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes. I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet” – Ghandi
Kate is a Licensed Professional Counselor who enjoys working with children ages 5 to 18 using play and art therapy. Kate works from a Systemic and Cognitive-Behavioral approach, keeping in mind children exist within a family, therefore the family must be part of the child’s therapeutic process. Kate works with children on the idea of how thoughts and feelings effect behaviors, and the control children can have on those behaviors. Kate focuses on appropriate levels of accountability and responsibility and the choices we can make when we acknowledge our roles. She enjoys her work with children; developing a strong bond through therapy, helping them find their voice, advocating on their behalf, and watching them develop and grow into their own personalities.
Kate has experience, starting in 2017, working with all age groups, specializing in anxiety and depression, life and family transitions, LGBTQ community, individual therapy, couples therapy, pre-marital counseling, and family therapy.
In her free time, Kate enjoys playing tennis with her husband, spending time with her dog, cooking and learning to bake.
