“We accept the love we think we deserve” – Perks of Being a Wallflower
Allison is a Licensed Professional Counselor who enjoys working with kids and adolescents, as well as adults struggling with life’s many hurdles. She works with many children who are dealing with family changes due to divorce or ongoing conflicts. Allison was an elementary school teacher for 6 years before getting her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lubbock Christian University. As a teacher, she unfortunately saw many of her students’ social/emotional wellbeing overlooked due to lack of resources and support, and felt a calling to serve children on a more personal level.
Allison has a passion for working with children utilizing art therapy and sand tray therapy, giving them a safe place to express themselves and process difficult emotions. She also enjoys facilitating social skills and art therapy groups for children; as well as parent support sessions. She has utilized trainings in Sandtray Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and is working on obtaining her Registered Play Therapy license.
