Kyle and Shelby Wright Lead Golf Tournament to Raise Over $100,000 for Summit Counseling Center

BRENTWOOD, TENNESSEE – November 13, 2023 – Summit Counseling Center, in collaboration with The Wright Family Foundation, is thrilled to announce the remarkable success of the “Hit the Green for Mental Wellbeing” Golf Tournament. Held at the prestigious Governor’s Club in Brentwood, Tennessee, on Monday, November 13th, the event saw 76 enthusiastic golfers coming together to champion mental health advocacy.

With a resounding impact, the tournament raised over $100,000, and the Wright Family Foundation is proud to declare that 100% of the net proceeds will directly benefit Summit Counseling Center, furthering their mission to provide vital mental health services.

The driving force behind this initiative is Kyle and Shelby Wright, who spearheaded the event with a commitment to promoting mental wellbeing in the community. The tournament not only showcased Kyle’s dedication to mental health advocacy but also drew support from his entire family, who attended the event in solidarity with his efforts.

Kyle, who played with the Braves from 2018 to 2023, has been a vocal advocate for mental health awareness throughout his career. His passion for the cause was evident as he took to the green with 76 fellow golfers, symbolizing unity and support for those facing mental health challenges.

“I’ve always wanted to host a golf tournament to raise awareness for mental health as it has always been something I’ve been passionate about because of personal experiences in the past,” Kyle Wright remarked. “The Summit has been incredible to work with, and we are so happy we could support a group that shares that same passion as us. We were amazed with the amount of money we were able to raise in year one and hope it’s something we can continue to grow and continue to bring awareness to such an important topic.”

In a heartwarming display of camaraderie, several of Kyle’s Braves teammates joined the tournament to show their support for both the event and Kyle’s commitment to mental health. Among those who participated were Austin Riley, Matt Olson, and Sean Murphy, adding sportsmanship to the cause.

The Creative Arts Agency (CAA) Baseball Division located in Nashville, TN played an instrumental role in planning every aspect of the tournament. Their collaboration with the Wright Family ensured a seamless and engaging event, leaving a lasting impact on all participants and attendees.

On November 17, 2023, the Braves traded Kyle Wright to the Kansas City Royals. The tournament thus served as a fitting tribute to Kyle’s time with the Braves and his enduring dedication to the cause of mental health.

Summit Counseling Center extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and supporters who contributed to the success of the “Hit the Green for Mental Wellbeing” Golf Tournament. Together, they have made a significant impact on mental health initiatives and paved the way for continued advocacy.
