Summit Counseling Center Uses HIPAA Compliant Zoom Platform

The Summit Counseling Center would like to respond to recent security concerns raised in a variety of media reports regarding the Zoom Video-conferencing Platform.

  • The Summit has partnered with Zoom to offer a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform to host our VideoTherapy Program.
  • The Summit uses “Zoom for Healthcare” – the premium HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom specifically designed for end-to-end encryption of data

  • The Summit has signed a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement with Zoom which ensures that additional safeguards and additional accountability to ensure protection of our client’s Personal Health Information.
  • These additional features include a virtual “Waiting Room” which allows therapists to carefully admit each participant into a Zoom Therapy Session AND to prevent any unauthorized participant from entering – thus providing a further barrier against the “Zoombombing” that has been reported in the media.
