Alyssa has a desire to help support individuals, couples, and families through the healing work of counseling. Alyssa has a passion for working with people experiencing chronic pain, chronic illness, and disability. She desires to provide counseling to support and offer presence to individual’s enduring these things. She is passionate about providing holistic and evidence-based therapy to individuals that focus on the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Alyssa views individuals through a lens of their personal neuroscience and their social context to capture a picture of the person as a whole. She believes that by providing a positive and intentional presence to an individual, there can be healing. Her therapeutic approach involves utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Narrative Therapy in the pursuit of focusing on a holistic approach to health that elevates, heals, and restores the individual’s story.

Alyssa received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Georgia. She received a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University. Prior to beginning graduate school, Alyssa worked for the Clinical Affective Neuroscience (CAN) lab at the University of Georgia that researched schizophrenia. In addition to psychology-specific roles, she also was involved in a campus ministry where she served overseas in South Asia.

Alyssa is a Georgia native and an avid UGA fan. She is passionate about people, finding new places to travel to, and regularly finding ways to play. She also has a love for film, books, and tv. In her personal time, Alyssa enjoys being outside on long walks or hikes, visiting local coffee shops with friends, attempting new recipes, and being with family.

Alyssa Kiss is under the directed experience and clinical supervision of Janet Fluker, M.ED., M.S., LPC, CPCS.
