Kara draws from a range of therapeutic approaches, including Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, tailoring each session to the unique needs and goals of the person in front of her. She is CAMS Trained, equipping her to support clients seeking hope and healing around suicidal thoughts. As a TBRI practitioner, she brings a deep understanding of how trauma impacts children from hard places. Kara is also a Gottman Level 1 therapist, allowing her to integrate research‑based tools that strengthen relationships and support couples in building healthier, more connected partnerships. In all she does, Kara’s work is grounded in being trauma‑informed, strengths‑based, and deeply attuned to each individual’s story.
Outside the counseling room, Kara loves spending time outdoors with her family, whether that’s sipping coffee on the back porch, playing a lively game of pickleball, or taking a slow walk together. She also enjoys getting lost in a good book, experimenting with new recipes alongside her husband, and tackling the day’s Wordle for a bit of fun
