Parenting a child is one of the greatest joys and challenges that we experience. It’s a commitment that continues for the majority of our lifetime. Rearing an emotionally intelligent child from pregnancy through adulthood requires a remarkable amount of on-the-job training as well as time and energy reserves. We walk with parents as they nurture and discipline their children from cradle to crayons through college and career, providing them with education, expertise, experience, encouragement, and emotional support. Below are some common issues that our counselors address.

  • Adoption
  • Blended Family
  • Clarifying Family Expectations
  • Co-Parenting
  • Discipline
  • Grandparenting in the Parental Role
  • Managing Change & Transitions
  • Setting Boundaries
  • Single Parenting
  • Understanding Roles & Responsibilities

Play Therapy

Play therapy applies the therapeutic benefits of play in helping children to address and resolve their own problems. This approach builds on the natural way that children learn about themselves and their relationships in the world around them. Through play therapy, children learn to communicate with others, express feelings, modify behavior, develop problem-solving skills, and learn a variety of ways of relating to others. It is through play that a safe psychological distance from their problems is provided, which allows the expression of thoughts and feelings appropriate to the child’s development. Learn more…
